The documentation downloads below are provided in Adobe PDF format. They are scans of the original printed material, so unfortunately are not indexed or searchable.
The software downloads below are provided as 737 KB double-density 3.5" floppy disk images. As modern computers no longer include floppy disk drives, you will need an external USB 3.5" floppy disk drive. These are inexpensive and readily available.

MRC-300 v1.00 - Original system software for the MC-300; compatible with the MC-500 and MC-500 MkII
Super-MRC v2.00 - System software for the MC-500 MkII; compatible with the MC-500, but can’t all fit into RAM at once
MRB-500 - Bulk librarian system generator software for the MC-500 or MC-500 MkII
MRD-500 - Rhythm Bank software (rhythm patterns) for the MC-500 MkII
MRP-500 - Performance package system generator software for the MC-500 or MC-500 MkII
MC-500 v2.2 - Firmware EPROM for the MC-500 (.bin)
Insert a 3.5" double density floppy disk into your external USB floppy disk drive. It doesn’t matter if it’s already formatted, because any contents will be overwritten. Ensure the disk is not write-protected
You may receive a message from the Finder about an unrecognised disk. If so, you can click the Ignore button
Run diskutil list to find the identifier of your external floppy disk drive and make a note of it. It will be marked (external, physical) and look something like /dev/disk3. Important: Run this command every time you follow these instructions because the identifer could change
Run diskutil umount /dev/disk3 to unmount the volume. Note that if you received the Finder unrecognised disk warning previously then this step is not required
Run sudo dd if=/<full-path-to-downloaded-file> of=/dev/disk3 bs=512 conv=noerror, sync whereby <full-path-to-downloaded-file> is the full path to one of the download disk images linked above. Enter your Mac login password when requested. See below for an example of this full command
When the command has completed, push the button to manually eject the floppy disk from the drive. Note that it’s not necessary to unmount it via the Finder of diskutil because it should still be unmounted from when you ran diskutil umount /dev/disk3 earlier
Example of the final command to write the downloaded system software image file to a floppy disk:
